Week 8- Run 3- so so

Ok so..  tonight I decided to try out run 3 of week 8.. but I did it very lackadaisical *but semi on purpose*. I don’t want to burn myself out for the 5k Saturday, but still wanted to try to maintain the Couch to 5k app. I ran the first 10 minutes, then walked a while.. then ran about three minutes, walked, then ran five minutes and walked the rest. So the 28 minutes strauight I could not complete (nor do I think I could have)… I found my legs shaky and my motions not as fluid as Tuesday. I also have found that when i take a few days off and go off schedule, my next run is much better. Not sure what to make of that. Continue reading

Week seven: Run 3

Well today I completed my last run of week seven- 25 minutes straight through (this time no stopping!!). It felt good for sure altho I have to admit at points it was definitely difficult and I slowed to a death-crawl-jog at a few points.

I focused on tryin to not keep my arms too high, retaining a lot of tension in my upper body (thanks Sonya!!) :) . So they were at a 90 degree angle or lower. I do think that helped. Got a slight stitch in my normal spot but ran through it and it did not become too awful.
Anyways I can’t believe week 8 is next!!
I have to say though I don’t feel ready for a 5k yet :-/. But pushing on!!
